On the 10th July 1969 in Santa Monica, Southern California a group of kids who couldn't think of anything better to do, started riding their push bike on some dirt trails at the local park. In November 1973 Marvin Church, built the first ever-true BMX bike for his son. It was a straight tube frame design to make use of longer crank. The rest is BMX history.
Now BMX is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia where the whole family can enjoy and participate in, with riders from 4 to 50 competing on organized days. Bayside BMX club is located on Wynnum Road at Wynnum West UBD #163 P7. Coaching and gate starts are held on Wednesday afternoons at 4.00.
