 Fort Lytton School Holiday Programs

For KidsThese unique programs provide hands-on activities in dramatic scenarios that engage children in real learning and great fun and are designed for children 6 to 12 years. “Raiders of the Lost Fort” is an adventure in archaeology. Children assist a Professor and Doctor of Archaeology from the University of Moreton Bay in unearthing the mystery surrounding recently discovered ruins. This program runs from 14-16 January. “Holding the Fort” is a bit of a carry on, with Sergeant Wilson and Corporal Jones battling against the odds to pass inspection. Can the new recruits impress the General and save the day? That’s the challenge! This program runs from 21-23 January 10am-12.30pm.

The programs are provided by Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service Heritage Unit at Fort Lytton National Park, with the support of Caltex Lytton Refinery. They are conducted by professional actors who also provide educational programs throughout the year in collaboration with the Moreton Bay Environmental Centre, based in Wynnum. These programs reflect what is unique about our Bayside community and cost only $8.

To book phone 3393 4647. (No charge for adults supervising children or younger siblings.)

 Live Steamers Model Trains

For KidsLast weekend at the BMX Championships we discovered the Live Steamers model steam trains and diesel trains. Live Steamers have a large track lay out, and for only $2 per person or $10 for a family you can take a 2 lap journey around the local bush on tracks carved into the landscape. This site has a huge potential with more tracks currently being built. Its a big kids train set down there and I'm sure adults and children alike will enjoy this ride. Great value and we will be keeping an eye on future developments!
