Community Info Southside SummitThe purpose of the Summit will be to help shape a long term strategy for the nation’s future – covering the economy, the nation’s infrastructure, our environment, our farmers, health care, indigenous Australians, the arts, national security, how we improve our system of government, and how we strengthen our communities and ensure nobody is left out of Australia’s future.

Australia 2020 Summit will be at Parliament House on 19 and 20 April and is set to shape a long term strategy for Australia’s future. The plan is to bring 1000 leading Australian’s together to nut out a plan that goes beyond the 3 year election cycle. At last we are seeing some leader ship on the difficult issues we all know have to be dealt with.

Kevin Rudd and Kerry Rea will be holding The Southside Summit Australia 2020 on Saturday the 5th of April from 12.30pm to 4pm at the Carina Bowls Club, 401 Stanley Road Carina. The Summit aims to discuss long term issues confronting communities. The Summit is an opportunity to express your views on the big issues into the future.

 Kerry Rea MP: Peter Garrett Coming to Wynnum Manly

EnvironmentPeter Garrett - Midnight Oil - MinisterYes that is correct the music legend, lead singer from Midnight Oil is coming to Wynnum Manly but its not to play music. Peter Garrett MP will be attending an afternoon tea to support Kerry Rea, Labor’s candidate for Bonner. Peter Garrett is the shadow Minister for the Arts and Shadow Minister for Climate Change, Environment and Heritage. Kerry Rea is inviting members of the local arts community in Bonner to discuss arts policy and issues with the Minister. The afternoon tea will be held at the Wynnum Manly Leagues Bowls Club, Esplanade and Adam St in Wynnum on Monday the 23rd of April 2007, 3:30pm - 5pm.
