It was perfect weather on Sunday for the U.S.M Triathlon Series Race, Wynnum. The event included a Just Kids Triathlon 100m swim 3 km cycle 500m run, an Enticer 200m Swim 6km cycle and a 1 km run. The main event was the Q.T.S, a 750m swim 20 km cycle and a 5km run the swim was run from Pandanus Beach with the cycling and run along the Wynnum Esplanade.
Local helpers from Quota Club Mrs B Vayro and Mrs N Paynter helped with the much needed energy drinks at the end of the triathlon.

The Aquathlon Championship part of the Lipton Ice Tea Triathlon Series,was held today[Sunday27th] at Pandanus Beach Wynnum, the rain and windy conditions did not alter the numbers entering .
The 1st race for 7+ started at 7.30am with the main race Q.T.S a 2km run/2km swim started at 8.00pm

Triathlon: Hopper Claims First Queensland Title After Ten Year Wait
A late entrant in today’s event Matt Hopper from Banyo and member of the One International club has claimed his first Queensland title after trying for the past ten years and although finishing second today Rebecca Myerscough claimed the women’s title in the Queensland Sprint Championships at Pandanus Beach, the third race in the Lipton Ice Tea Queensland Triathlon Series.
Warm temperatures greated a big field of nearly 550 competitors that turned out to take part in the race today, some chasing a Queensland title, others looking for a PB and those just having a go.
