Attracting attention wherever she goes, the “Pirate” ship Notorious is heading for the William Gunn Jetty in Manly Harbour. Notorious is the only re-creation of a 1480s Portuguese Caraval in the Southern Hemisphere. Built out of 300 tonnes of recycled timber, these ships were popular with pirates due to their speed and agility.
Home to Graeme and Felicity Wylie of Victoria, the pair are making their way to Brisbane as we speak. Earlier this year they completed a 10,000 mile journey from Warrnambool on Victoria’s south-western coasts to Port Douglas, stopping over in Sydney and now have Brisbane in their sights.
Notorious is expected to be moored alongside the William Gunn Jetty in Manly for one week, arriving Tuesday 7th July until Sunday 12th July. Visitors will be able to tour the “Pirate Ship” for the duration of their visit.
For detailed information regarding tours aboard Notorious while she is in port, contact the Wynnum Manly Tourism and Visitor Information Centre.
